Main responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Commercial (VP of Sales) to lead our commercial team through the next phase of growth. In this role, you will develop and execute our commercial strategy, drive revenue growth, and build a high-performing commercial team.
This is a strategic leadership position, but equally a roll-up-your-sleeves role; you will lead by example in the field, actively engaging in key deals and client relationships. Commercial Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement a scalable Go-To-Market strategy tailored to global enterprise clients. Translate growth goals into actionable plans across New Business, Marketing, Account Management, and Customer Success.
Team Building and Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial team. Hire and onboard new team members while fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and results.
Sales Process and Best Practices: Define and evolve scalable sales processes to improve efficiency and drive predictable outcomes. Build a comprehensive playbook covering pipeline management, deal qualification, contract renewals and KPIs. Use performance data to continuously optimize sales motion and drive transparency through CRM adoption.
Product Collaboration and Market Feedback: Represent the voice of the customer by sharing insights from the market, clients, and competitors. Work closely with Product to influence roadmap priorities and shape pricing and packaging based on real-world feedback.
Hands-On Deal Execution: Take a hands-on approach in key deals and act as lead on high-value enterprise opportunities. Support the team with discovery, proposals, and negotiations to help close strategic accounts.
Customer Relationships and Advocacy: Build strong relationships with executives at key accounts and partners. Travel when needed to meet clients and represent the company at events. Serve as a senior sponsor to ensure retention, satisfaction, and expansion, while leveraging success stories to support future growth.
Job requirements
Your background
10+ years of relevant sales experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
Proven success in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments (Seed to Series C), or a strong entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial track record
Track record in Enterprise B2B SaaS sales, managing multi-million ARR accounts and senior stakeholders; strong closer with excellent communication skills
Preferably familiar with the Food & Beverage or CPG space, including Digital Shelf, Retail Media, and E-commerce; an existing network is a strong advantage
Affinity with data and AI products; strong analytical skills and a tech-savvy mindset
Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing commercial teams
Proficient with commercial tools such as Salesforce and other CRM/sales & marketing automation platforms
